- Virginia Satir

My undergraduate studies in Kinesiology has profoundly shaped my counselling approach. I'm frequently asked about the transition from physical to mental health. The reality is, I see it more as an expansion than a switch. I view both realms as remarkably similar and inherently compatible. As a former exercise practitioner and athlete, I've always placed high importance on understanding people's experiences and creating a safe space for them to move their bodies.

Centering on a therapeutic bond built on relational trust, empathy, and compassion, I've seen remarkable physical transformations. It taught me this. People have the capacity to change when they are met in a genuine space of connection, shared humanity and deep unconditional acceptance, no matter the type of change they may be seeking. Moreover, my deep-rooted understanding of human movement complements my counselling approach, which integrates the mind-body connection and incorporates knowledge of the nervous system and neurobiology.
