My undergraduate studies in Kinesiology has profoundly shaped my counselling approach. I'm frequently asked about the transition from physical to mental health. The reality is, I see it more as an expansion than a switch. I view both realms as remarkably similar and inherently compatible. As a former exercise practitioner and athlete, I've always placed high importance on understanding people's experiences and creating a safe space for them to move their bodies.
Centering on a therapeutic bond built on relational trust, empathy, and compassion, I've seen remarkable physical transformations. It taught me this. People have the capacity to change when they are met in a genuine space of connection, shared humanity and deep unconditional acceptance, no matter the type of change they may be seeking. Moreover, my deep-rooted understanding of human movement complements my counselling approach, which integrates the mind-body connection and incorporates knowledge of the nervous system and neurobiology.

RELATIONAL
ATTUNEMENT
EMBODIED
Viewing individuals through the lens of love, fostering developmental and relational healing forms the heart of my counselling practice. My counselling philosophy reflects the fundamental principles of relational connection, attunement, and embodiment. I prioritize cultivating genuine relationships with my clients to establish a nurturing, validiating and secure therapeutic environment. Through attunement, I aim for my clients to 'feel felt', intricately tracking what may be known or unknown inside of themselves. Additionally, I value embodiment, acknowledging the complex mind-body connection and incorporating somatic and neuro-physiological approaches to foster nervous system healing. These values form the cornerstone of my counselling practice, guiding me to engage with each client with empathy, authenticity, and respect, inviting empowerment towards a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
